La Figuiere is a stunning, stone house, nestled on a quiet laneway off the main street of Haut de Cagnes. Decorated with style and well-equipped – this beautiful home offers a swimming pool, garage, sea view terraces, outdoor dining and 3 double bedrooms with air con – a perfect summer getaway!
Enter the house directly into the kitchen/dining room. The kitchen is galley-style and is of a high standing with pull out drawers, a large sink, dishwasher, 4 ring electric hob, steam oven, coffee machine with coffee bean grinder, juicer, large 2 door fridge-freezer with ice maker and water dispenser. A kitchen bar with 2 iron bar stools separates the large dining room with seating for 8, a fireplace and 2 large windows offering sea views. At the far corner, there is access onto a charming, covered stone terrace with iron dining table and 6 chairs – ideal for protecting you from the midday sun in high season.
Off the dining room, there are 2 steps down to a small landing offering access to the main terraces and garden area, a w.c. and a large and spacious sitting room, where you will find provides a comfortable L shaped sofa and armchairs, a desk, book shelves, wood burning stove and c.d. player. This room also has 2 double, glass doors opening onto the main sea view terrace.
The lower terrace is the largest of 3 terraces with summer kitchen (gas BBQ and sink) outside dining table, 2 comfy sun chairs with small table – perfect for coffee or evening aperitif, 2 iron sun beds with cushions, parasol, plants and a wonderful olive tree.
Approximately 10 steps up will take you up to the second terrace above the summer kitchen with its swimming pool, wooden deck, outdoor shower and colorful bougainvillea. The pool is approximately 5 x 4m in size with a depth of 1m60 to 3m and it is an endless pool, which allows you to swim endlessly without having to turn or stop. There is an iron gate, which you can close protecting small children from accessing the pool area when adults aren’t around. A few more steps will take you to an even higher terrace with more comfortable sun chairs. All terraces have roof top views over Cagnes and sea views – they have sun from early morning to around 16h30 in high season.
A wonderful, sweeping stair case takes you from the dining room to the upper level. There are 2 double bedrooms, one on either side of the landing plus a bathroom in cream stone with shower, wc and wash hand basin. The washing machine and dryer are also located in this area for your convenience.
The main bedroom, situated under the roof beams has an iron bed of 160cm – it is a large room with 3 windows on 2 sides, offering sea views and plenty of light. There is also a small desk, wardrobe, bedside tables, reversible air con and charming iron features.
The second bedroom has a double bed of 140cm, situated in a recess with cupboards either side. There is an antique desk, small balconette and reversible air con provided for your comfort.
The third double bedroom is accessed either from the garage on the lower street level or from steps leading down from the main terrace. The iron bed is 160cm, there is a kitchenette with fridge, 2 ring, electric stove and sink. You will also find reversible air con – despite the fact that this room stays cool in the summer, due to being below the house. The bathroom lies under the old vaults and is a few steps above the bedroom level – it has a large mirror, bath with telephone shower and wash hand basin.
The house has 2 wifi boxes, so wifi is strong on the ground and upper levels, child safety gates for the stairs are an option if required though parents do need to take ultimate responsibility for their children’s safety.
With original tiling through out and an impressive collection of artwork and rugs, plus wonderful sea views – La Figuiere is a very desirable property, extremely comfortable, well equipped and well laid out – a holiday home hard to beat!
There is a garage available for a medium sized car – very long cars will jut out and large cars risk not fitting. The garage is under the house, at the top of a steep road close to the town below. Drivers should note that they will need to put their foot down hard on the accelerator, if they don’t have 4 wheel drive and wish to enter the garage.
There is some free street parking on the road and in the village itself plus there are paying car parks situated in both village and town. They are within walking distance but there is also a free shuttle bus running from the town to the medieval village (every 15 minutes) and this leaves you 2 minutes from the house.
The house is a 5 minute walk up to the castle square with all its restaurants and a 5 minute walk down to the town below with its food markets and shops.
